We’re almost half way through fall and winter is just around the corner! The seasonal changes can be hard on the skin; especially the winter season can be very challenging.
Cold air outside and dry and warm air inside can make the skin very dry and itchy. Summer, on the other hand, brings other challenges: sunshine feels so amazing on the skin and is important for the production of vitamin D, but it will also damage the skin, especially if it burns it.
I thought I would share my favorite body oil recipe with you that works wonderfully year around. I’ve been using this for a bout a year now and would not change it for anything! It contains only few, 100% natural ingredients:
cold pressed sesame seed oil, frankincense, lavender, and copaiba essential oils.
Sesame oil has been used for ages in skincare because of its many health promoting properties. I love to use this body oil in the evening before going to bed because it is very calming and soothing for the skin, muscles, and mind. Sesame oil gets absorbed very quickly into the skin so you don’t have to wait for a long time to get dressed after applying it.
– 200ml of organic virgin sesame oil
– 4 drops each: frankincense, lavender, and copaiba essential oils
– 200ml empty (glass) bottle preferably with a pump cork
Mix the ingredients together and apply on the skin after a shower. All the ingredients are very soothing and calming so this makes a perfect evening oil to support relaxation.
