Purna Yoga is a comprehensive system that takes into consideration all aspects of a human being, and in fact, Purna means “complete”. When you come to a Purna Yoga class your whole being gets nurtured through asana, pranayama and meditation and you will learn and integrate the teachings of yogic philosophy along with nutrition tips into your daily life.
You will learn how to let go of the ego and start living from the heart. Every class starts with meditation and simple breathing practices after which we move into the physical practice. All asanas (the postures) are done with great attention to the alignment of the body which allows free flow of energy, increases body awareness, strengthens and opens the body in a safe way, challenges you mentally and physically, and helps you to bring the body back in balance. We always finish the class with Shavasana that allows your body to integrate the work you did in the class. In Purna Yoga classes you will get a profound understanding of the wholeness of a yoga practice.
“True yoga is not about the shape of your body,
but the shape of your life.
Yoga is not to be performed; yoga is to be lived.
Yoga doesn’t care about what you have been;
yoga cares about the person you are becoming.
Yoga is designed for a vast and profound purpose,
and for it to be truly called yoga,
its essence must be embodied.”
