DIY NIGHTTIME FACE SERUM

Beauty care has never been more fun and easier!

I’m a person who appreciates easy & simple beauty care routine. I just don’t like to spend hours every morning and evening shuffling with all sorts of creams and what not. Plus I don’t even have all that extra time. My kids barely let me pee in peace let alone to spend one hour styling my hair!

There’s a little hippie girl inside me that got out of her cave few years back when I learned to appreciate, and totally fell in love with, my bare beauty and all its simplicity.

I’m also a person who believes that our skin & hair really doesn’t need five different kinds of creams, three shampoos, countless hair styling products, and a luggage full of make up.

When you add all the hundreds of different kind of ingredients we don’t even know how to spell, our beauty care routine easily becomes a cocktail that does more harm than good to our wellbeing.

Whenever I manage to substitute a commercially made product with a self made one I feel like a winner! I really get enormous satisfaction for being able to create my own beauty products with only few ingredients that are 100% natural and safe. It just can’t get better than that!
It’s so empowering to be in charge of what I put on my skin and into my body. Less is more!
Healthy and radiant skin & hair really just needs few good quality natural products that supports their own wellbeing and balance.

This serum doesn’t only support your skin during the sleep but also promotes good night sleep and it just might knock you out after applying it. Here’s what you need for this face serum and how to make it. And here’s a little bit about the benefits of the oils I chose for this face serum:

FRANKINCENSE

Frankincense essential oil is a resin oil and it’s topical use smooths the skin and maintains the radian appearance of healthy skin. It evens out skin tone and balances dry skin. Frankincense is a key ingredient in many face creams. On top of the great benefits this precious essential oil offers to the skin, it is also one of the best oils to assist relaxation.

LAVENDER

Lavender essential oil helps to reduce the appearance of blemishes, soothes sensitive skin, and supports healthy and youthful glow. Lavender is one of the most used essential oils and especially loved and appreciated for its calming and sleep supporting properties.

CEDARWOOD

Cedarwood essential oil offers cleansing and moisturizing properties and can help maintain the appearance of healthy and youthful skin. Cedarwood is also a resin oil like frankincense offering deeply grounding and relaxing benefits.

ROSEHIP SEED OIL:

Rosehip seed oil is a fatty carrier oil which is nourishes and smooths the skin. This is an excellent oil for more mature skin. It is considered as a precious anti-wrinkle oil to nourish and revitalize the skin. Rosehip seed oil is particularly valuable for mature, damaged, or problem skin.

MOISTURISING DIY BODY OIL

Lavender, frankinsence, and copaiba essential oils are all included in the Young Living Premium Starter Kit.

We’re almost half way through fall and winter is just around the corner! The seasonal changes can be hard on the skin; especially the winter season can be very challenging.

Cold air outside and dry and warm air inside can make the skin very dry and itchy. Summer, on the other hand, brings other challenges: sunshine feels so amazing on the skin and is important for the production of vitamin D, but it will also damage the skin, especially if it burns it.

I thought I would share my favorite body oil recipe with you that works wonderfully year around. I’ve been using this for a bout a year now and would not change it for anything! It contains only few, 100% natural ingredients:

cold pressed sesame seed oil, frankincense, lavender, and copaiba essential oils.

Sesame oil has been used for ages in skincare because of its many health promoting properties. I love to use this body oil in the evening before going to bed because it is very calming and soothing for the skin, muscles, and mind. Sesame oil gets absorbed very quickly into the skin so you don’t have to wait for a long time to get dressed after applying it.

You’ll need:

– 200ml of organic virgin sesame oil
– 4 drops each: frankincense, lavender, and copaiba essential oils

– 200ml empty (glass) bottle preferably with a pump cork

Mix the ingredients together and apply on the skin after a shower. All the ingredients are very soothing and calming so this makes a perfect evening oil to support relaxation.

DIY LAUNDRY DETERGENT

We woke up to a gray and rainy morning today. A weather that gives you a good reason to enjoy the day indoors in your pyjamas doing all sorts of crafty things with the kids. Since our laundry detergent had run out and the laundry room was full of clothes to wash, I decided to set up a little laundry detergent laboratory into our kitchen. My daughter asked me three times what I meant by saying that we are now going to prepare laundry detergents 😂 She wanted to know how it is possible to make it yourself, why I wanted to make it myself and what’s wrong with the one they sell in the shops.

So, why I wanted to make the laundry detergent myself:
1. Because toxic free living is close to my heart. Fewer chemicals = better health for me, my family, and the environment.
2. Because I find being able to create things by myself fascinating, and even more so with a fraction of the ingredients found in the commercial versions and with 0% harmful chemicals.
3. Because making your own saves you money that you can then spend on something that brings you more wellness
4. Because DIY projects are fun!

And this is how you too can make your own laundry detergent:
– big handful of marseille soap flakes
– 2 liters of hot distilled water
– 15-25 drops of essential oil (the more essential oil the stronger the scent)
– one tablespoon of baking soda for white clothes laundry detergent .
Mix all together in a glass container. Remember to shake the bottle before pouring the detergent in the laundry detergent dispenser (the detergent gets thicker after it cools down). .

I wish you all happy laundry days 👚 👕 👖 👗

FRIDAY THE CLEANING DAY+ DIY CLEANER RECIPE

It’s Friday, and to me it means cleaning and fresh flowers! Fun right? 😀 Flower part yes but the cleaning part…well, it may not be the most pleasant thing to do in the world but something you kinda have to do once in a while. I have dedicated Friday mornings and early afternoons to cleaning up the house because I like to start off the weekend in a clean and tidy home. It’s much more relaxing and pleasant to gather up with the whole family or friends for a nice Friday evening dinner when the home is in order.

Even the kids will enjoy the clutter and dirt free home when they have more clean space to jump around. When all the toys are not all over the place they have to use more creativity to come up with something to play with. Today they took my yoga pads and blocks and started to make towers and DIY sport tracks. They had so much fun and I din’t mind about all those things being all over the living room floor because the rest of the house was tidy and smelled like roses.

For about half a year now I have been using only one product to clean the whole house. I use this same self made detergent to clean the kitchen, bathrooms, windows, mirrors, doors, tables, and any other surfaces except floors (for the floors I use only one capful of Thieves Household cleaner from Young Living and hot water). I used to have a detergent for all of the spaces and surfaces mentioned above. And all those detergents contain harmful substances. Whenever I sprayed those I felt like I would have needed a gas mask on my face; my eyes got irritated, nose started to run and I felt I couldn’t breath well. During my first pregnancy I got really sensitive to all artificial & possibly harmful components and I changed all my detergents to scent free ones and stopped using perfume. The smell was just too overwhelming and my body was telling me to stay away from anything that harmful to protect the baby and myself. After that I have been choosing the most natural and odourless detergents and washing liquids I could find in the shops. Unfortunately, even the ones who claim to be all natural, in the end, may not be all that. So, I did some research and decided to make my own cleaning product that really contains only ingredients that are known to be safe. It works like magic, smells like heaven, and is as clean as a whistle.

  4. 1 tablespoon of white vinegar
