Alignment-based Hatha Yoga

Alignment-based Hatha yoga classes are based on the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar. In these yoga classes, all asanas (the physical postures) are done with great attention to the alignment of the body which allows free flow of energy, increases body awareness, calms the mind, strengthens and opens the body in a safe way, challenges you mentally and physically, and helps you to bring the body back in balance. Different kinds of yoga props will be used in classes to help us access the poses safely and effectively.

Fridays 9:30-11:00 at Mala Yoga in Thalwil

Between the months of September and February, the last Friday of the month will be a restorative yoga class.

Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga is a deeply relaxing and nourishing practice that is designed to soothe the nervous system, relax muscles, calm the mind, relieve tension in the diaphragm and rib cage, and restore kidney and adrenal function. It is a great practice to relieve physical and mental stress that gets built up in the body.

We begin the class with slow and gentle movement that releases tension in the body and prepares the body for restorative poses. 

Restorative yoga class offers a unique opportunity for you to truly be present with yourself, to pay attention to your inner world, and to give yourself and your senses a break from the constant input of the surrounding world.

Restorative Yoga takes place at Mala Yoga in Thalwil from 9:30-11:00 on the following Fridays:
